the best ever comedies were sitcoms like 'Man about the house' 'George and mildred' 'keeping up appearances' most other sitcoms rely heavily on people making funny faces and screaming and jumping and falling around to create a comic effect, with hardly any intelligent humour in words or dialogues. for eg Absolutely fabulous and the rubbish ones by Miranda hart. i prefer actual wit to clowny behaviour

Interesting that French is so much more front than Saunders, and comedic forever, unabashed, delightful. I'm thinking that Saunders, cool, composed, was/ is the business brain in this duo. I really enjoyed this.

Love this movie, it truly leaves you thinking about yourself and your losses and things you don't always appreciate. Meryl Streep is a brilliant actor but I think this is one of her movies that won my heart hands down. Definitely a 10!

What impresses the heck out of me about Jennifer is that she is not only hot as hell, but hubba, hubba, is she ever stylish!! Back in the 80s and early 90s, she was kinda like an ugly duckling who hadn't found herself looks-wise yet, but by the mid-to-late 1990s and especially all during the 2000s, she was one of the sexiest, most sophisticated-looking people on earth! Most celebs just look good. Not Jen. She looks good AND knows what looks good on her!! A dream girl to me, for sure! If she's nothing else to me, she is at least my dream girl!

I still think their Fellini film spoofs are some of the funniest things I have ever seen. What am I saying? Everything they do is funny, funny, funny. That's what happens when you get very bright and talented women who focus hard on their craft, and work their asses off. Literally genre changing comedians' All Hail Jennifer and Dawn.

Now there's a gulf that wasn't my fault. An empty-nester, with no hubby & kids that barely speak to me. Oh the joy.
